A new festival in St. Charles will unite authors and artists to celebrate the intersection of literacy and the arts. Artists, poets and book illustrators will convene in the Grand Hall of the Foundry Art Centre in Historic St. Charles from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 for the debut Arts and Literary Festival.
The new event, which is co-hosted by the Foundry Art Centre and the St. Charles City-County Library Foundation, will feature speakers, music and vendors. A schedule will be announced at foundryartcentre.org closer to the event date.
Visitors to the family-friendly festival can also take a trolley ride with special guest Daniel Tiger, courtesy of the City of St. Charles. Tickets are free but limited to three per family; children must be between the ages of 2-5. Visit the Foundry Art Centre by Aug. 25 to register for the Daniel Tiger Trolley Experience.
The Foundry Art Centre is located in a renovated train car factory and houses exhibition space, artists’ studios, classrooms and galleries for emerging artists. Foundry Art hosts classes, performances, a free 2nd Thursdays program for families and more.
