The Dirt on Saint Louis Galleria
Once the hottest mall in the St. Louis metro area, the Saint Louis Galleria still offers a great shopping experience for St. Louis families. What it lacks, however, is family entertainment. Beginning this October, "Bodies the Exhibition" moved into the space formerly occupied by Mark Shale. The exhibit, which features 250 real preserved bodies and organs, will remain at the Galleria through the end of January. Next fall, Nordstrom will open at the Galleria, and Love Culture will open soon.Anchor Stores: Dillards, Macy's (view the complete store directory)
Some Unique Shopping Opportunities: Anthropologie, Janie and Jack, The Art of Shaving, Lacoste, The Bose Store, Man Alive, Marmi Shoes
Older kids will love:
- Galleria 6 Cinemas onsite
- "Bodies the Exhibition"
- On select Wednesdays, Galleria 6 Cinemas hosts "Movies for Mommies," a chance for parents and childcare providers to enjoy a movie with their little one in a child-friendly environment.
- Family bathrooms and a nursing lounge
Dining at Saint Louis Galleria: For sit-down options, families can enjoy California Pizza Kitchen, Cheesecake Factory, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, or St. Louis Bread Co. The food court offers some less traditional fast-food.
Safety: In 2009, the Richmond Heights Police Department made 585 arrests at the Saint Louis Galleria. Most incidents were related to shoplifting. Kids 16 and under must be accompanied by a parent or supervising adult age 21 or older after 3 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Plaza Frontenac features the most exquisite, high-end shopping experience in the St. Louis metro area. It simply doesn't get more upscale than Plaza Frontenac, and unless you have the most couth kids (or they're secured in a stroller), Plaza Frontenac doesn't offer much for kids -- until they want designer jeans, handbags and shoes, that is!
Jamestown Mall is keeping its doors open with two anchor stores and more than 40 specialty shops and restaurants. The struggling mall has held several store grand openings recently, bringing new activity to the struggling retail location.
