Tricks and Treats at Mercy Children's Hospital

OCT. 26, 2011 -- Mercy Children's Hospital, with some help from volunteers from Wal-Mart and Coca-Cola threw a Halloween party for hospitalized children on Saturday, Oct. 22. Ghosts and goblins, witches and pumpkins helped brighten the day of the children, who also participated in games, and arts and crafts. There were prizes, treats, face-painting and event a visit by the St. Louis Cardinals' own Fredbird.
Doctors, nurses, therapists and other caregivers all joined in the fun. Child life specialists at Mercy Children's Hospital plan special activities throughout the year for their pediatric patients to help create a sense of normalcy for patients and families.
