Sugar Creek Park Gets a New Playground

DEC. 9, 2011 -- Construction has begun on a new playround at Sugar Creek Park, located at the intersection of Dougherty Ferry and Des Peres roads in Des Peres.
The new nature-themed playground will feature climbing rocks and rope structures, swings and a slide. The park's master plan also includes a salamander-shaped path, which would connect the play area to a new spray feature. A construction timeline on the spray feature has not been set. The entire play area will be ADA accessible.
A grand opening for the playground is scheduled for Saturday, April 7, 2012.
Sugar Creek Park is part of the city of Des Peres' park system. It includes ball fields, a paved trail, a play fountain and pavillion. The Dougherty Ferry entrance to the park will be closed during construction; visitors are advised to use the Entrance off Des Peres Road.
