An F/A-18B Hornet, formerly flown by the U.S. Navy's expert aviators, is being installed outside the James S. McDonnell Planetarium at the Saint Louis Science Center. The plane's permanent outdoor exhibit should be completed in mid-December, but for now the public can see it from outside its protective fencing.

The National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Fla., has loaned the plane to the science center. The aircraft was built by Boeing in St. Louis. It has been flown in air shows for more than 25 years.
