Online Panel Will Answer Questions about Multiple Births
JUNE 7, 2011 -- In the last 30 years, the number of twins born in the U.S. has doubled, and the number of triplets has increased by nearly five-fold, according to a St. Louis Children's Hospital release. To help parents prepare for multiples, St. Louis Children's Hospital is hosting "Managing Many: The Risks, Realities and Rewards of Multiple Births."
The event, a live online question and answer session, invites parents to log on to www.stlchildrens.org to hear expert advice from three health professionals:
- Dr. Kelly Ross, a St. Louis Children's Hospital pediatrician specializing in newborn medicine, and mother of triplets;
- Dr. David Stamilio, director of the Fetal Care Center at St. Louis Children's and Barnes-Jewish hospitals and associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Washington University School of Medicine; and
- Meg Mohr, nurse coordinator for the Fetal Care Center at St. Louis Children's and Barnes-Jewish hospitals.
"Managing Many" begins at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8. Parents and soon-to-be parents can ask questions via Facebook, Twitter (@stlchildrens) or e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
