SEPT. 21, 2011 -- Kenzi, the elephant calf born on June 24, is ready to make her public debut at the Saint Louis Zoo.

You can see Kenzi, her mother, Rani, and other members of her family at the elephant habitat in the River's Edge on Friday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. to noon, and again from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Zoo officials expect Kenzi will also be available for viewing during the same times throughout the weekend, though viewing hours could change.

Raja, Kenzi's father, will be available for viewing in an adjacent habitat at the River's Edge.

Kenzi, who now weighs more than 380 pounds, has been gradually introduced to her habitat by her elephant care team. She's been warmly welcomed by her elephant family, the zoo reports.
