Free Forum Provides Support, Resources for Families Impacted by Autism
APRIL 24, 2011 -- Autism experts are gathering at Washington University on Saturday, April 30, to provide information to the community in the second annual St. Louis Metro Autism Forum.
The forum features a variety of speakers who will present information about autism health insurance legislation, funding sources for those with special needs, divorce and families with autism, resources and support for families, inspirational stories and more.
According to a St. Louis Metro Autism Forum news release, the forum is a platform for elevating the awareness and resources for autism.
“The desire is for the community to have an even broader perspective about autism and gain huge takeaways from the forum," said Janice Gregory, developer and organizer of the event. "In addition, individuals have the opportunity to interact with professionals treating and researching autism.”
The forum will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Washington University Program in Occupational Therapy Auditorium, 4444 Forest Park Avenue (corner of Forest Park and Newstead) in St. Louis. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The forum is free and open to the public.
To RSVP for this event, call Bonnie Logsdon at 314-286-1606. For more information about the forum, call Janice Gregory at 618-593-5146.
April is National Autism Awareness Month.
