JAN. 2, 2012 -- Beginning on Wednesday, Jan. 4, Saint Louis Bread Co. will be crafting the winning sandwich from their Sandwich Showdown at all of its area cafes. The BLTT (Bacon Lettuce Tomato with a Twist) will be available through Jan. 31, with a portion of each sale going to St. Louis Children's Hospital.

The winner of the fourth-annual Saint Louis Bread Co. Sandwich Showdown, and creator of the BLTT, is Lauren Day of Marthasville, Mo. Nearly 800 entries were received in the showdown. Five finalists were chosen, and select MyPanera customers participated in a tasting to name their favorite sandwich.

The BLTT is served hot on tomato basil bread with apple wood smoked bacon, Gouda cheese, chipotle mayo, fresh spinach and tomato.

Saint Louis Bread Co. was recently named a winner for Family Dining in the Sprout Seven: Seven Best Family Attractions awards program.
