Best Bets for Easter Egg Hunts

girl_egg_huntNothing says spring quite like the Easter egg. Part of the American tradition since the first White House Easter Egg Roll in 1878, children delight in playing games and hunting down these treat-filled eggs. But you don't need to travel to the nation's capital to have fun with Easter eggs. Just attend one of these area egg hunts in March and April.

Hare in the Air
Logan College of Chiropractic hosts this annual free event on its campus at 1851 Schoettler Road in Chesterfield. To kickoff the egg hunt, the Easter Bunny arrives via helicopter at 11 a.m. The event starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 24. For more information, visit the Logan College of Chiropractice website.

Hoppin' Down the Bunny Trail
Bring your Easter basket and hop along the Drewel Park Loop Trail, 499 Drewel Park, in Eureka. On Saturday, March 31, at 10 a.m., the Easter Bunny will leave goodies along the trail for boys and girls. After the hunt, have your picture taken with the Easter Bunny and pick up a free tree for Arbor Day. Admission to the Easter Egg Hunt is one non-perishable food item per person. See details in the Sprout calendar.

Easter Egg-Citement
Fill your basket with fun at Eckert's Annual Egg Hunt at their Belleville, Ill., location, 901 S. Green Mount Road. The egg hunt is $10 per child and includes an animal petting area, face painting and visit with the Easter Bunny. There are six dates to choose from: March 24, 25 and 31 and April 1, 6 and 7, with egg hunts taking place at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. each day. No advanced registration is required. For more information, visit eckerts.com.

As a way of saying thank you to the LLS participants, volunteers and supporters, the LLS Bunny is hiding 50,000 eggs for children up to 12 years old. The event is free, but registration is required. See details in the Sprout calendar.

Easter Egg Hunt at Tilles Park

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., with the first hunt beginning at 10 a.m. The Easter egg hunt is open to children up to age 11.
